Researchers at a leading medical institute have published findings on a novel immunotherapy technique that shows encouraging results in early trials against several aggressive forms of cancer.
The method involves reprogramming a patient's own immune cells to better recognise and attack tumour cells while minimising damage to healthy tissue. Preliminary data indicates improved response rates compared with existing treatments.
Larger clinical trials are scheduled to begin next year. Experts describe the work as an important step forward, though caution that much more research is needed.
